Oct 16th Trading Log (Updates):
Current Trades: Bought 300 more GLD Nov puts at 6.97, bought 300 more GLD Dec puts at 9, bought 400 more GLD Nov puts at 6.65, bought 500 more GLD Dec puts at 8.7, sold 400 GLD Nov puts at 7.1, bought 500 more GLD Nov puts at 6.7, sold 500 GLD Nov puts at 7.1, bought 100 GLD Oct 17 400 puts at 7.25, bought 100 more GLD Oct puts at 6.5, sold 500 GLD Dec puts at 9.4, sold 500 GLD Nov puts at 7.45, sold the 200 GLD Oct puts at 8.4, bought 500 GLD Nov 385 puts at 8.95, bought back 100 GLD Oct 17 400 puts at 6, sold the 100 GLD Oct puts at 7.1, and sold the 500 GLD Dec puts at 9.55 -------- The GLD Nov and Dec puts don't fall and even rise when GLD rises. So, I bought short-term Oct puts. Recap: Although, GLD rose about 11 points, the Nov 380 puts closed only 0.95 lower and the Nov 385 puts closed only 1.42 lower! Normally, a month away puts would close over five points lower on a 11 point stock rise.
My portfolio is over $9,145,000 including $8,322,600 in cash.

Portfolio at $100,000 on March 1st, 2018. Portfolio stop loss suspended. Scaled up and adjusted portfolio. Both prior portfolios, since early 2000s, rose initially and substantially, and then failed quickly in “irrational” market “melt-ups," where stocks go straight up month after month. |
