Dec 27th Trading Log (Premarket):
My two prior portfolios failed on "melt-ups." SPY hasn't had a significant pullback in the entire month. It rises one day and stays high the next in a tight range, etc.. I've been looking for a pullback to sell riskier options and build cash. I may sell the June or April puts and buy January or February puts, which have much more leverage and became much cheaper. Given the parabolic rise, there's normally a big pullback.
My portfolio is about $400,000 including $5,200 in cash.

Portfolio at $100,000 on March 1st, 2018. Portfolio stop loss lowered to $300,000. Scaled up and adjusted portfolio. Both prior portfolios, since the early 2000s, rose initially and substantially, and then failed quickly in “irrational” market “melt-ups.” |
