Next Week Trading (Jul 28th):
I’ll be looking for an opportunity to trade short-term weekly options next week. However, at this point, there aren’t good opportunities. For example, AAPL reports Tuesday and fell sharply Friday. Trading AMZN puts that expire in one day Friday was easy to make big gains. The puts kept edging higher. For example, at the open, I bought puts at 12, and they quickly edged higher without pulling back much. If the puts started to fall from 20 to 18, for example, I would’ve sold around 18, but didn’t pull-back much and kept moving higher. When they reached 23, I was satisfied to sell, although they later rose to around 75! I wasn’t expecting the huge market pullback. GE held-up well and it’s likely near the bottom. I expect, to make big gains with GE.
My portfolio is over $140,000 including $79,700 in cash.
Calls Contracts-Shares Long
GE Jan 14 2019 300
GE Jan 15 2019 1,000
PGNX Aug 8 2018 40
Puts Contracts-Shares Short
SPY Aug 285 2018 10
Portfolio at $100,000 on Mar 1st, 2018. Portfolio stop loss at $50,000. Stop loss will be strictly enforced and extreme caution will be taken if triggered to avoid large losses and preserve capital in "irrational" market periods. |
