Dec 16th Trading Log (Fri Trading Plan):
A volatile market tends to be a forgiving trading market. QQQ has had at least five point swings each day recently. Given the daily NYMO is negative 20 and QQQ fell over 13 points from the opening high to the intraday low today, I plan to buy more QQQ calls on pullbacks. Also, BABA calls on pullbacks. Moreover, I expect VXX, currently at 21 1/4, to rise above 30 in February or March, although it may fall lower, perhaps in early January? I'm normally busy in the mornings and just have time to mostly adjust limit orders, e.g. before open.
My portfolio is about $525,000 including $421,700 in cash.
Calls Contracts-Shares Long
QQQ Dec 380 20 weekly 31st
QQQ Jan 380 2022 20
VXX Mar 20 2022 50
BABA Jan 120 2022 10
BABA Mar 120 2022 10
Puts Contracts-Shares Short

Portfolio at $100,000 on March 1st, 2018. Portfolio stop loss suspended. Scaled up and adjusted portfolio. Both prior portfolios, since early 2000s, rose initially and substantially, and then failed quickly in “irrational” market “melt-ups," where stocks can go straight up month after month. |
