May 31st Trading Log (Fri Trading Plan):
I made several fundamental errors recently, along with having some bad luck. I didn’t expect the oil stocks to fall below December levels, didn’t expect the 10 year bond yield to fall to 2.2%, technical indicators and sentiment suggested an oversold bounce, and bad timing on the 5% tariff on Mexico yesterday before the income and outlays report this morning. Stocks are expected to fall and bonds to rise at the open. I plan to buy more TLT puts and NVDA calls, look for a bounce to sell SLB and HAL shares, and may buy GOOG and BA calls. The calls that expire after today will be very cheap with huge leverage. There may be a great deal of volatility.
My portfolio is about $680,000 including $169,000 in cash.

Portfolio at $100,000 on Mar 1st, 2018. Portfolio stop loss raised to $600,000. Stop loss will be strictly enforced and extreme caution will be taken if triggered to avoid large losses and preserve capital in "irrational" market periods. |
